Bagua Zhang
8 Trigrams Palm
Baguazhang (usually translated as "Eight-trigram palm") is a relative new yet considered as one of the most sophisicated styles of traditional Chinese martial arts.
In Taoist culture, the "Bagua" symbols represent patterns of change. Bagua as a Martial Art emphasizes change in movement and angular patterns. The word "Zhang" means palm, due to the predominance of open palm techniques.
The characteristics of Baguazhang is dynamics, fluid and unpredictable with spiral (sometimes considered as "snake-like") movements. Baguazhang practice is also well known in promoting health and ability to adapt into other martial arts.
